The water is no longer a sheet of glass. The rippling ocean is back, and I am perched looking out the back door for my dolphins. Why is it when you are looking for something out a window it is “yours”.
We headed off the Gulf into Punta Gorda (Port Charlotte) to the Isles Island Yacht club. The trek was about 20 miles off the Gulf inlet. A bit longer than we wanted but this is an exploring adventure. Well getting in was a bit of a cluster. The place had 2 sunken sailboats and we went to the wrong one. Once locating the correct one we headed into the Canal area. Boy was it a tight canal. Bob the dockmaster was waving at the pier and we slowly maneuvered to the end of the canal and the yacht club. Tight, tight, tight is all I can say. Sean turned the boat 360 degrees and docked perfectly. The club is beautiful and treated us with such a professional and warm welcome. We decided we are staying a few days and going to make all the minor repairs we want to make to have her seaworthy for the duration of the trip.
That evening sitting at the yacht club looking of the stern a dolphin pops up right out of the water next to the boat. My dolphin of course (wink, wink).
