The yacht club is genuinely nice and active. After a fun night eating at the club and a good night sleep I get up and use the facilities. I was amazed. People were playing intense tennis outside and in the common room a intense exercise class was going on and in the gym people lifting weight. So, much for lazy morning when you retire. I am sure everyone is trying to beat the heat of the day.
I scootered into town to find an ATM. Like all first trips I went the wrong way and got turned around. That is even with the phone chirping in my ear. I landed at Fishermen’s Wharf. The historic fishing area with shops and restaurants, old anchors, a few tour boats, and marina. Nice area. We will have to come back for dinner one night. I scootered home with no money. No one knew where an atm. Yes, I asked google maps and that atm no longer existed. The bank closed. Maybe ATMs are going to go by the way of the phone booth with VENMO and PayPal. However, one thing I have learned, when boating and dealing with clubs checks and cash are still king.
