Docking at the City Marina on the Mega Yacht Dock was a challenge. The tides and wind were crazy strong. The hardest dockage yet. We had to abort the starboard tie approach and come back around and do a port tie. Maybe the thought of crashing with a 10 million dollar yacht made it even trickier.
We needed to key down. After that a long walk on King Street and down Broad with the old houses helped put put me right. I love the iron work and doors.
A bit depressing of a day in general since it was mothers day. However, my kids called and changed the mood. Last time I was here was to visit Brandon for his graduation. Lots of memories came back. He called and said you need to go out to eat mom and suggested his 2 favorite cool places.
So glad we listened to him. I for one have never eaten in a church converted to a restaurant. The whole vibe was fresh. The tall cathedral ceilings took the noise away and were covered in words from the ancient book “The Art of War”. Even more interesting our check came in a copy of the book. So, along with others we scribled a thought in the margins. Thanks Brandon!!! Such sophisticated taste. Oh, and the food was good!!!!
To top off a good day, a fellow Kadey-Krogen owner asked us on-board when we returned from dinner. Al and Susan on Two-Can were so informative and gracious, we lost all track of time. 18 years they have ventured with Two-Can and what wonderful stories and inspiration they provided us. This is when we learned, “If you have seen one Krogen, you have seen one Krogen”. There Krogen is #200 and something. They knew a friend of Sean’s. The boating world is so small, the Krogen world even smaller. I can’t help but wonder how many years we will have our Krogen.

Marvelous, Karron! I couldn’t read the restaurant sign: please pass along the restaurant names.
